Meet Andy Zmuda
Dr. Andy Zmuda, LMFT, the founder of Generace, is a therapist with two decades of experience and a PhD in Couples and Family Therapy from Drexel University. His warm, direct, and collaborative approach is rooted in Bowen Natural Systems theory and the core belief that "therapy talks with you, not at you." He emphasizes collaborative engagement and "steadiness," slowing down to notice patterns and emotions, to help clients achieve real, sustainable change. The name Generace, meaning "generations," reflects his commitment to healthy families.

How we think about change
Experiences Shape How People Respond
-
People’s reactions, patterns, and sensitivities are shaped by what they’ve lived through.
-
We approach those responses with curiosity, not judgment.
There Is No Hierarchy of Experience
-
There is no threshold for what “counts.”
-
What matters is how experiences continue to show up in the present.
People Make Sense in Context
-
Reactions, patterns, and struggles don’t come out of nowhere.
-
They’re understandable responses to lived experience.
Collaboration Creates Movement
-
Progress happens when therapy feels like a shared effort, not a one-sided process.
Change Comes From Staying With What’s Real
-
When people can feel what’s happening and make sense of it in conversation, their responses begin to shift naturally.
Are you ready to talk?
Healing often begins with a conversation. We offer in-person and virtual therapy for adults, couples, and families across New Jersey.
